Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Public relations magazines, published by local governments, have an important function for providing information necessary in daily life for every citizen. The magazine uses usually written Japanese, and figures and tables. The function of figures and tables is to add further information, and to support understanding of text. From the function of the magazine, it should be universally accessible. This report discusses fundamental issues to be considered in expressing the magazine by a signed language. In the first part of this report, we show certain structure and layout of the magazine. Where, we show layout (spatial) and semantic relations between Japanese text and figures/tables refereed. In the second part, we show the difference between written information (document) and signing in expressing document information. We further show certain issues that we must consider in signing the documents.
