Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) There is serious obstacle among the handicapped people that they communicate with others in face-to-face situation because they hesitate to show their physical disorders to others. Furthermore, they often feel inferiority complex with their communicative competence from their deaf-mutismness. However, the cyber-media communications such as chat, BBS, or E-mail give them large benefits to communicate with others. The cyber-media communication do not need to meet and show user's personal features that the handicapped people become nervous. On the other hand, what the cyber-media communications often cage them up in the cyber world is pointed out by way of a negative aspect. This study offers a practical design for communicative virtual enviornment to realize that the handicapped people directly and corporally interact with others without their hesitancy to meet others in face-to-face situation.
