Mood Congruence / Incongruence Effect in the Scene of Social Interaction with Agent

Abstract(in English) In the scene of a face to face conversation, people exchange not only their verbal messages but also non-verbal information such as facial expressions, which express such mental conditions as their mood, emotion, or attitude. The purpose of this study is to examine how facial expression of humans influence the degree of sympathy of a character of CG drawn agent and their reactions through a psychological experiment. Our experiments have shown us that the affiliation motivations were established when the subjects were controlled negative mood through horrible or frightful pictures that are unconditionally shown and the subjects gave more assists to agent who expresses the congruous mood with its facial expression as the subjects.
