Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Our efforts for realization of a natural conversation robot have been described. The problems in spoken dialogue interface of robots are roughly classified into two categories: one is caused by the peculiarity that the robots exist in spaces, and the other is caused by the intention to utilize body for conversation. Spatial problems in robot conversation system consist of distant-open microphone problems and group conversation problems. Rotes of body in robot conversation system consist of interface transparency, utterance-action-coordination, and awareness. In this paper, we describe our efforts to solve these problems.
