Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) When we are not sure about the reliability of a given information, we tend to judge it in accordance with the reliability of the information provider. This often happens especially when we do not have enough knowledge/experience to judge the reliability. The tendency further becomes stronger when the information provider gives us the process of how the provider gets the information. In this study, we focus on the function of media to provide information and discuss how the reliability of the provider affects the reliability of the information given by the provider. We have conducted an experiment concerning how the reliability of the media and the information are affected by showing the process of providing the information. The experimental results suggest that showing the process positively affects the impression on the media and the information. The results also show the precept for giving some indefinite information.
