Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We examined affective appraisal of children with Pervasive Developmental Disorders (PDD) from interpersonal situation, comparing with normal children. They were shown PF study cards of various interpersonal situations and asked to make some verbal expressions which, they thought, the target stimulus person might utter and to guess his/her inner feeling in each situation. In addition to this normal procedure of PF study test, we asked them to select the facial expressions which, they felt, the target stimulus person seemed to show in the situations. The results showed no significant difference between groups, suggesting that children with PDD do not differ in affective appraisal of the interpersonal situations so greatly from normal children of the first or second grade primary school. However, we can not neglect several unscorable responses appeared in the PDD group. We discussed it from the impairment of the central coherence.
