Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We compare two on-demand routing protocols for mobile ad hoc networks, that is AODV and DSR by computer simulation. We use the latest version of AODV and DSR, which are implemented in the simulation tool called GloMoSim. We modified the source code of AODV and DSR so as to compare them on the same conditions as much as possible. We also modified the DSR code to discover a route to the destination, when which it receives RREQ. We found that this modification significantly improves DSR performance. After these modifications, we comparatively compare AODV and DSR performance under various conditions and show the advantage and disadvantage of them and show that AODV outperforms DSR under several scenarios.
