Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In order to apply virtual reality technologies into tools for everyday life, it is necessary to develop untethered human interface technologies that do not constrain the user's activities. We proposed a force feedback method based on the use of air pressure toward an untethered human interface. The previous implementation used a single nozzle to provide the sensation of hitting a soft object. In this paper, we expanded the method to express the surface of three dimensional virtual objects by air jets from multiple nozzles arranged in a matrix. This paper describes implementation of the proposed method and discusses a series of experiments.
