Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It is rapidly getting easier to handle a large amount of video data now. In the very near future, we will be able to accumulate video data more than several thousands of hours on the strength of great advance of storage technologies. Under such a situation, new methods are acutely needed for structuring video archives or video data mining. We have already proposed a method of identical video segment detection for those purposes. In this paper, we apply the method for a news video archive and implement a news video browser to view the result of applying the method. We also show remarkable results and detection patterns we found, and discuss the validity of the method.
