Abstract(in English) The Proactive Desk is a new digital desk with haptic feedback. In the Proactive Desk, two linear induction motors (LIM) are equipped to generate an omnidirectional translational force on a user's hand or a physical object on the desk without any mechanical link or wire, thereby preserving the advantages of a digital desk. The LIM is widely used large scales automated carry system, however it is not clear how much degree of force or how long response time the LIM provide on interactive operation like the Proactive Desk. In this paper, we report the characteristics of the LIM on the Proactive Desk about degree of force and response time for user interface.
