Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a new locomotion interface that provides the capability to walk through human scale virtual environments. This interface is based on step-in-place movement and a smart turntable device as a walking platform. Gestures which are performed by the user and the orientation of the user's body are analyzed by his/her weight movement. Therefore, users do not need to attach any devices on their body for locomotion purpose. Users can master this system easily, and walk around the virtual environments freely.
