Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We present a method for reconstructing human body's surface from measured dataset ('point cloud'). Previous methods reconstruct not only valid surfaces but also invalid surfaces that wrap concave area. Our goal is reconstructing only valid surfaces. Our method is performed through 2 steps ; clustering point cloud into each section of the body, and reconstructing surfaces of each section. Clustering uses pose estimation and spacial distribution of point cloud on cylindrical coordinate system. We reconstruct surfaces of each section indepently and merge them to reconstruct only valid surfaces. We got valid human surface model from simulated data and real datawith our method, and we evaluated the effectiveness of our method.
