| 抄録(和) | 拡張現実感(AR)の分野の新しいアプリケーションとして、遠隔地の夜空を全方位仮想空間として再現するプラネタリウムシステム'Night Sky Observer'を提案し、その実装を示す。本システムでは、遠隔地に置かれたサーバーが、一定周期ごとにデジタルカメラにより夜空を複数枚撮影し、それらの画像を合成して高解像度の全方位画像を作成する。クライアント側では、サーバーから送信される全方位画像等の情報から実時間で仮想空間を構築し、星座線や星座名及び天体名等の仮想オブジェクトを空間に重畳する。利用者は、手持ち型マウスを用いて仮想オブジェクトを適宜表示させながら、インタラクティブに夜空の観測を楽しむことが出来る。 |
| 抄録(英) | We propose the "Night Sky Observer" system as an application of augmented reality. This system allows multi-user observation of real-time remote sky scenes overlaid with virtual constellation through use of head-mounted displays (HMDs), and enables all users to experience a personal planetarium that they can interact with using their mouse devices. In this system, remote server captures omni-directional images of the remote sky at fixed time period by using a high-definition CCD camera, creates a virtual constellation image after calculating the positions of stars and then broadcasts them to clients. Each client calculates the direction the user's head is facing towards using gyro sensor mounted on the user's HMD, creates perspective image from omni-directional image sent from server and displays perspective image into HMD. |
