Abstract(in English) The concept and system architecture of a community support system called Public Opinion Channel (POC) are described. The prototype system of a POC is implemented and evaluated in the KDDI's FTTH (Fiber To The Homo) trial. 0ur aim is to understand factors that make a community a knowledgeable community where people exchange information actively, and produce fruitful results. To understand factors on a knowledgeable community, we implemented several functions from viewpoints of synthetic and analytic approaches. From the synthetic viewpoint, we implemented ideas of an quasi-anonymous community, circulation of messages, and fragmentation of information. From the analytic viewpoint, we implemented functions for supporting tasks of community organizers and data analyst. Requirements, approaches, and system architecture of the prototype system are described.
