Abstract(in English) High-accuracy and high-speed character recognition systems are desired. The known character recognition algorithms are described focusing on various discriminant functions and feature spaces. One of the candidates of high-accuracy character recognition algorithms is an algorithm unified various known recognition algorithms. The idea of the unification is stated. Parallel implementation of recognition system makes processing speed-up without reduction of accuracy. To implement the parallel processing, the principle of parallelization of sequential program is described.
