Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose a novel video mosaicing method based on extrinsic camera parameter estimation. The advantage of estimating extrinsic camera parameters instead of homography, which is widely used in conventional video mosaicing methods, is that they are less subject to cumulative estimation errors. First, extrinsic camera parameters are estimated by tracking image features. Next, re-appearing feature points in the images are detected and stitched for minimizing cumulative estimation errors. Finally, all the images are projected onto the mosaic image plane, and a super resolution mosaic image is generated by an Iterative Back Projection algorithm. Experiments have successfully demonstrated the feasibility of the proposed method.
