| 抄録(和) | 縦書き・横書きの表記形式の単語、シンボル、ラインを中心視野に提示し、視覚誘発脳磁場の比較を行った。全頭および左右側頭部の被験者全員分のRMS(Root Mean Square)を算出し、およそ5ms毎に縦・横×刺激の種類(2×3)の分散分析を行い、条件ごとの反応に有意差がみられるかを検討した。単語の処理においてのみ出現する反応として、(1)180-200ms、(2)250msあたり、(3)370msあたりをピークとする三つの成分(N180、RP、P300)が共通して確認された。どの成分においても単語刺激では縦書きの反応が横書きよりも一貫して強く、縦書き文字の処理は横書きに比べ何かしらの高度あるいは困難な過程が含まれることが示唆された。縦書き・横書き文字の脳内の認知処理における本質的な違いが示唆され、これまでの研究で議論されてきたような読みにおける縦書きの効率の悪さは、サッケードや眼球運動によってのみ起因するものではない可能性が示された。 |
| 抄録(英) | Vertically and horizontally arranged words, symbols and lines were presented at the center of the vision in order to compare the visual evoked field of each condition. RMS (Root Mean Square) of whole head, and the left and right temporal areas from all the subjects were calculated, and in every approximately 5 ms, the analysis of variance (ANOVA) was performed in the design of vertical or horizontal arrangement×stimulus type (2×3) to see significant difference in signal strength. Three major components, peaking at (1) l80-200ms (2) approximately 250ms and (3) approximately 370ms (N180, RP, P300, respectively), which appear only when processing the word stimuli were confirmed. Reaction of the vertically arranged words is consistently stronger than the horizontal ones in all the component, which suggested that recognizing vertically arranged texts possibly contains higher leveled or more difficult processes. The essential difference in the recognition process of vertically and horizontally arranged texts was distinguished, and thus, inefficiency in reading vertically arranged texts may not be only rooted by saccade or eye movements. |
