Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this Paper, We would like to present a process model of understanding, a cognitive process in collaborative problem solving through cognitive experiments. The video data and the results from the experiments lead to analyze the process and attempt ot create a process model of understanding. The new model describes a discovering process of some of the principles included in the tasks. We used a cyclone vacuum cleaner and and electric car as tasks to solve cooperatively. The subjects were divided into two groups. In one group, the subjects were provided with the pyhsical objects or sketches of the objects. In the other group, the subjects had only verbal descriptions. By comparing the two groups, a model of the cooperative understanding process is obtained. We discussed the differences between the two groups and also the differences with the conventional research models with respect to the cooperative cognitive process model.
