Mode locking of diode-pumped YbrYAG laser with Kerr medium

Abstract(in English) A diode-pumped mode-locked Yb:YAG laser has been developed for compact, stable and efficient operation. A nonlinear-glass is inserted in the laser-cavity to separate the Kerr medium and the gain medium. This method allows for stable mode-locked and efficient laser oscillation. Pulse width of 550 fs has been achieved at 74 MHz repetition rate with average output power of 45 mW (at 1030 nm), when the transform-limited condition is assumed.
