Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Amplification of optical light excited by traveling electron was observed. A dielectric waveguide made of Si-SiO2 and an electron gun were set in a vacuum chamber. The optical field propagated though the waveguide and partly penetrated into the vacuum region in the form of an evanescent wave. The electron beam was emitted by the electron gun and traveled along surface of the waveguide in same direction with the optical field and interacted with the field. Although the amplification ratio was very small, suitable dispersion relation between the acceleration voltage of 40.2 to 42.2 KV and optical wavelength of 1.528 to 1.585 μm was confirmed which was well fit with the theoretical calculation.
