Abstract(in English) Monolithic laser diodes with a 110mW DVD-recording laser for 4-fold speed and a 200mW CD-recording laser for 48-fold speed have been developed as a light source of next-generation optical recording systems. In order to enhance DVD recording speed, the DVD laser output was improved to 160mW for 8-fold speed. The reliability under the condition of 70℃ 160mW was also confirmed.
