Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have proposed and demonstrated a tunable ring laser using an optical ladder-type filter and the ring resonator. One channel from the periodic outputs of ring resonator can be selected by controlling the transmission peak wavelength of the ladder filter. The ladder filter and the ring resonator were fabricated using the InGaAsP-InP material system and they are hybrid integrated with a fiber amplifier to construct the laser. Digitally tunable laser operation for 100-GHz channel spacing is observed for 31 channels.
