Interesting polarization characteristics of the 633nmHe-Ne laser inserted a polarization component into the external cavity

Abstract(in English) In the single mode 633nmHe-Ne laser of internal mirror type, the complex cavity was constituted using an external reflector. When anisotropic loss and phase were given by inserted a linear polarizer, λ/4 plate or λ/2 plate into the external cavity , the interesting polarization characteristics were measured by changing external cavity length. As a result of simulation using the orthogonal mode equation to explain these phenomena, these could be explained in consideration of effects on saturation of oscillation mode and spatial hole-burning.
