Abstract(in English) It was difficult to amplify a high bit rate signal by semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOAs) because of their large nonlinearity and gain transient. We successfully demonstrated the transmission of 80 Gbit/s/ch WDM signals by using linear optical amplifiers (LOAs) as repeaters.
