Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) has been tested for the detection of sodium dissolved in water. Laser sparks were formed on the surface of liquid jet or in the liquid contained in a cell by focused pulses from a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser. LIBS experiment using repetitive double sparks was also tested for liquid jet. Reduction of background signal was observed and the detection limit of 0.7ppm was obtained which was thirty times smaller than the value obtained in the single spark experiment.
