Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The novel N : N coupler using a mirror in a slab waveguide is proposed. We have studied the condition of the quadratic curve mirrors that can collimate the reflected beam and we optimized the mirror shape to reduce aberration. The simulation results using BPM indicated that the proposed coupler was approximately the same performance compared to the conventional coupler. The experimental result of the l : 4 optical coupler fabricated by using polyimide waveguide was about 30 dB.
