Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose four-port guided wave magic-T using multi-mode interference waveguide and demonstrate its operation by FDTD method. This structure is composed of a thin film loaded asymmetric multi-mode interference waveguide and a symmetric multi-mode interference waveguide. An asymmery in the thin-film loaded multi-mode interference waveguide leads to the peculiar magic-T operation. Having a poor operation with a simple thin-film loading of the thin-film, we considered the tandem stracture of the thin-film loaded multi-mode interference waveguide to improve the operation. The advantage of this structure is that a simplification can be attempted through using only straight component.
