Influence of SAW-Multi-mode in AOTF

Abstract(in English) AOTF (Acousto-optic Tunable Filter) which has many features, such as a wide tuning range and a fast tuning speed, is expected as a key device of a next-generation optical fiber communication systems. AOTF is a filter using the wavelength dependency of the Acousto-optic effect on LN substrate. Since the interaction length of light and SAW becomes long to obtain a narrow bandwidth for DWDM, SAW guide technology is needed. ln this paper, the influence and the reduction method of SAW multi-mode, which are issue on designing AOTF, are discussed.
