The competition characteristics between TE mode and TM mode in the semiconductor laser amplifers operating on a red wavelength

Abstract(in English) The laser amplifier was constituted in the 675nmCSP type semiconductor laser and 655nm VSIS type semiconductor laser of the single mode operation on a red wavelength. TM polarization of the master laser is injected into the slave laser amplifier and the output characteristics were measured by changing optical injection power. The optical injection power by changing operation current of the master laser was followed the shift of wavelength simultaneously Therefore the optical injection power was controlled by variable ND filter. Consequently, it is clear that the TM output power linearly depends and the TE output power inversely depends on the injection power. Moreover, as a result of the simulation for this experimental result, it is clarified that the coupling between TE mode and TM mode is strong.
