Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | The influence of Polarization-Mode Dispersion on dispersion-managed solitons is numerically investigated. We vary transmission power and dispersion map strength, and evaluate transmission quality by using optical Q-value. It is confirmed that stable transmission in high power regime, which is a well known characteristic of dispersion-managed soliton, can be achieved even with Polarization-Mode Dispersion. However, statistical deviation of transmission quality will be large, especially in a regime of large S and high power. It is also predicted that group velocity difference between the polarization modes can affect nonlinear interaction between neighboring pulses, and can cause a serious degradation of transmission quality. |
