Reliability of polyimide optical waveguide module

Abstract(in English) We studied the reliability for a filter-embedded Add/drop module (ADM) and 4-channel wide wavelength-division multiplexer (4ch-WWDM) fabricated with fluorinated polyimide waveguide. We investigated the temperature (-25℃~75℃) and humidity (30RH~90%RH) dependent behavior of the insertion loss of ADM. These loss changes were less than 0.5dB. We also investigated the insertion loss stability of 4ch-WWDM under the heat cycle (-10℃ to 60℃) and high humidity and temperature (43℃,93%RH) conditions. These loss changes were less than 1.0dB under the tests in 500 cycles and 1900 hours, respectively.
