Abstract(in English) | Widely tunable filter using a ladder-type interferometer can be applied to widely tunable laser by incorporating a semiconductor optical amplifier into the ladder-type interferometric filter. In order to achieve stable oscillation wavelength selection, the ladder-type interferometric filter needs to have narrow bandwidth and one dominant passband. In this work, we study the bandwidth narrowing by increasing diffraction order and one passband response by chirping the ladder-type filter, respectively. We theoretically analyze spectral characteristics of the chirped ladder-type filter, and experimentally demonstrate one passband spectral response in the fabricated device based on our numerical analysis. |
