Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Reserch on photonic router based on the optical switching technology is important as an enabling technology for increasing the capacity and flexible operation of the metro area network. We have proposed bascule optical switch, which combines mechanical actuation with flexible polymer waveguide suitable for low cost. In this paper, we report on the trench processing technology which determine low reflection loss property of 0.5dB. Actuation mechanism has also been developed to realize high speed switching of 130μs.
