Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Holographic memory is a promising candidate for the next generation of optical memories because of its parallel nature as regards data transfer. Of the available types of holographic memory, the Multilayered Waveguide Holographic Read Only Memory (MWH-ROM) may be the most suitable for general use because its reader systems do not require costly components such as Fourier transform lenses or lasers with highly accurate wavelengths. In this paper, we introduce the MWH-ROM and discuss new results on a key technology, the aperture multiplexing technique. We were able to multiplex 9 images into a waveguide hologram.
