Low Loss MPO Connector

Abstract(in English) In recently, optical data transmission is increasing, and demand of multi-fiber connector rises. And as the connection part, higher density and lower insertion loss are required. This time, we developed low insertion loss of two-dimensional array type 24-fiber MPO connector, which is a high-density connector. Mainly, we improved the fiber position error of 24-fiber MT ferrule. We examined the design of 24-fiber MT ferrule metal mold and optimized the molding condition. The insertion loss of this low loss 24-fiber MPO connector for SM fiber is achieved less than 0.3dB.
