Model Based Diagnosis for Motor Drive System by using Temporal Causal Graph

Abstract(in English) Recently, the demands for the reliable and safety motion control system are increasing. To meet such demands, the control system must have self-diagnosis functions. This paper presents a new fault diagnosis framework which exploits a qualitative dynamical model of the plant called Temporal Causal Graph (TCG). The addressed framework consists of (i) monitoring, (ii) generating fault hypotheses, and (iii) prediction based on the TCG model. Some simulation results are shown as for the application to the Brushless DC motor drive system to demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed framework.
