Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Due to widespread use of the Internet, the use of e-learning systems is steadily increasing. In most cases, however, an e-learning system provides only web materials which have been converted from textbooks. If the e-learning system is to be used more efficiently, the system will have to provide an environment adapted to the individual learner. In this paper, we discuss the requirement for providing a learning environment adapted to the individual learner's understanding, and we propose methodology for the development of an intelligent e-learning system to satisfy these requirements by using distributed object technology and agent technology.
