Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes how a new bidirectional WDM transmission technique on a single fiber enhances performance of the multifiber WDM networks with a help of simple edge filters. A preliminary analysis shows that the new bidirectional WDM transmission technique can not only alleviate filter requirements, but also improve their reconfigurability without sacrificing spectrum efficiency and transmission performance.
