Abstract(in English) We demonstrated an optical frequency shifter using quasi-phase-matched LiNbO_3 wavelength converters based on double wavelength conversion. We achieved broadband optical frequency shifting as broad as 1 THz, and succeeded in converting input channels to destination channels that contain a channel common to an input channels. We also demonstrated variable optical frequency shifter employing two 4-channel multiple quasi-phase-matched LiNbO_3 wavelength converters. We obtained ten different outputs by varying the pump wavelength combination for the two wavelength converters. The outputs spread across a wavelength range of as broad as 30 nm.
