Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Chromatic dispersion (CD) compensation is one of the key technologies in WDM optical communication systems. Especially, in reconfigurable all-photonic transparent networks in future photonic networks, tunable CD compensators (TCDCs) are indispensable. All-pass ring resonators have been proposed, which have down sizing and integrability. In this report, the chromatic dispersion characteristics of TCDC with the proposed configuration were theoretically analyzed, in which the roundtrip loss of a ring resonator was taken into account for emulating practical device characteristics. Tunable dispersion compensation by a TCDC consisting of four-stage ring resonators was also demonstrated.
