Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In multipath environment of mobile communication systems, it is needed to estimate the propagation parameter, namely, directions of arrival (DOA) and delay characteristics of each path. The location of users under control of a base station can be anywhere within some distance in CDMA systems. The regular circular array antenna is advantageous compared with linear array, having uniform resolution in all directions and no ambiguity of DOA. When the a priori probability is unavailable, the maximum likelihood (ML) criterion is known to give the optimum estimates. In this paper, We propose an optimum algorithm jointly to estimate the delay and directions of arrival channel characteristics based on the ML criterion for the MC/CDMA system with circular array antenna. By simulation, we compare the proposed method with MUSIC algorithm which estimates the directions of arrival with high resolution.
