Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose a novel noise reduction system, consisting of a hybrid noise estimation technique and a multi-channel post-filter, for suppressing both localized and non-localized noises in practical environments. The hybrid noise estimation technique calculates the spectra of localized noises with high accuracy by perfectly combining a multi-channel estimation technique and a single-channel estimation technique with a robust speech absence probability estimator. The estimated spectra are then suppressed from those of noisy observations by spectral subtraction. Furthermore, a multi-channel post-filter is adopted to reduce the residual non-localized noises. The spectral enhancement capability of the post-filter is improved by incorporating a novel estimator for the a priori speech absence probability which is based on the coherence characteristic of noise field at the spectral subtraction output. The performance of the proposed noise reduction system is evaluated and compared to that of other conventional reduction systems in terms of objective measures.
