Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, it was experimentally discussed how degree amplitude distortion is preferred and which distortion components influence perception of a distortion. Firstly, the perceptibility of the amplitude distortion and the preference of the timbre on a music reproduction were evaluated by the absolute judgment method. Secondly, the perceptibility of the amplitude distortion on the two-frequency complex tone, including the distortion such as a vacuum tube, was evaluated by method of constant stimuli. Lastly, the distortion component, influencing perception of a distortion, was theoretically discussed by the two-frequency complex tone, including one of the distortion components, based on the cubic distortion and the masking characteristic. From the results, it can be found that the distortion rate, which the distortion is felt and the timbre is preferred, is exist. It was suggested that the distortion components ,influencing perception of the amplitude distortion, are f_2-f_1, 2f_1, f_1+f_2, 2f_2 on two-frequency complex tone.
