Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The authors discuss a method for estimating and/or predicting the listening score and two psychological impressions of speech audibility and annoyance, when listening to audio signals composed of monosyllables, in an actual noise environment. More specifically, the instantaneous spectral distance I are introduced. This reflects the mutual relationships between the spectrum level of the audio signal and that of the noise within a short time scale. Next, the relationships between I and the listening score/psychological impressions are considered. By using these results, prediction problems are discussed regarding how the listening score/psychological impressions improve when a noise insulation is carried out. The predicted values of the listening score/psychological impressions are compared with experimental data. The predicted results are in good agreement with the observed values.
