Possibility of localization sound field by ear-plug type earphones

Abstract(in English) This paper discusses experimentally whether a localization sound field is got with ear-plug type earphones. At first, the binaural hearing and hearing by the ear-plug type deaf aid were tested. From the results, it can be found that the sound image on midsagitalplane tends to appear in the back or in the head. As the next experiments, an interaction between localization and lateralization was studied, by making a special condition that right-ear is put in lateralization with an earphone and left-ear is put in localization. From the results, the earphone causes not only lateralization but also an artifact like inversions in front-back.
