Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The hard-hearing is caused by the impairment of the outer hair cell which compressing sound pressure bandwidth. Normal hearing can experience the artificial hearing impairment by listening the sound of expanding sound-pressure bandwidth beforehand using digital signal processing, because reducing of the effect of the outer hair cell. The sound-pressure bandwidth expansion method is applied to a wide variety of hearing impairment, because the expansion ratio is changed noticeably and easily. Though higher harmonic components and amplitude modulations are both produced by the process, these distortions are easily eliminated by filtering and dividing their frequency bandwidth.
