Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have studied a man-machine interface system using an iris center detected from a color image of the eye. Users of this system are the handicapped who have no movement of their hands and head. Conditions for the use of this system are to use under ceiling lights, to attach a video-camera in front of the user's head, and for the user's head not to move. In this paper we describe an algorithm for detecting the iris center from a color image of the eye. We report that the processing speed of the proposed algorithm is faster than our early algorithm. We discuss detection accuracy for gazing some targets on the Goldmann perimeter.
