Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In the present study, we design a database system of geographic information for the physically handicapped. We first pick up the necessary terms which help outdoor activities of them. Based on the terms, then, we designed a geographic information database. This database is designed as an abstract copy of real welfare city so that the system enables us to manage and update data. In the near future, we will extend this database system to that managed by XML Web Service. The XML Web Service will develop the welfare database to a virtual welfare city because it provides environment to combine the welfare information with weather, traffic and other information.
