Construction of Fingerprint Recognition System by Layered Neural Network

Abstract(in English) We constructed individual identification system of fingerprint by three-layered neural networks, and investigated the effects of data-coding and neural networks on the recognition rates. Input data were obtained by coding fingerprint image into four kinds of directions. From the results, we found that the recognition rates of our system were about 96%, and that the data-coding and the layered neural network were useful for the high recognition rates of individual identification.
