Sphincs : Hierarchical Artificial Neural Network Simulator (Neurocomputing)

Abstract(in English) Simulation is critical important method for computational neuroscience research and engineering. We developed a novel architectural simulator "Sphincs" (Simulator with Parallel and Hierarchical mechanisms for Investigation of Neural Computation System) which aims to both neuroscience exploration and industrial application with introducing neuroscience study results and examination, based on ANN (Artificial Neural Network) methodology. Sphincs has several new features : 1) mechanical network generation, 2) multi-layer network operation, 3) new neuron types refered biological feature (ex. Basket, Pyramidal, etc.) and 4) cross function like Genetic Algorithm at design phase before mechanical network generation, to reduce cost of neural network construction. Futhermore, Sphincs has several convenient merits like expansion easiness, platform independency and so on cause we developed it with Java [TM].
